How to collect VAT
Registered companies are required to document their business revenues and costs, in addition to the value-added tax associated with those revenues and costs. Companies registered for tax purposes will impose value-added tax on all their customers according to the prevailing tax rate, and they will also pay value-added tax on the value of goods and services that they purchase from suppliers. The difference between the tax that is collected and that which is paid is the one that is paid to or recovered from the government.
